The matrixing has long been used for cutting and forming metals using mechanical or hydraulic press. The theoretical knowledge in this area must be supported by good field experience and curiosity. Although the basics of matrixing are known for several years, we have witnessed many changes in recent years. The arrival of new cutting technologies (laser, water jet), the philosophy of JIT, SMED concepts, electronic detection in real-time of the production parameters and global competition greatly influences the design of these tools. The gauge assembly is the basic tool of an assembly line. Regardless if the assemblies are welded, bolted or even glued the gauge provides the precision and the repetition. Similar in its functions for the precision and repetition but different from its application, the machining pattern is used in tandem with a conventional machine tool or CNC. Drawing a template is pretty simple you ask? But in Mobil.id we have designed so many projects that we now know that simple does not mean functional.
